Meet Lyvly's Wembley ambassador: Oliver

September 2, 2019 - Read time 2 mins

Oliver has giant feet - size 14 to be exact and hates people sneezing on the tube without covering their nose or mouth.

He's one of our pioneer members in Wembley and is flying the flag for a misunderstood neighbourhood in North West London.

FAVOURITE THING ABOUT wembley?

"There's so much going on in the area, even though you aren't in central London, it certainly doesn't feel like it. Wembley Park has got loads of stuff to keep you busy, whilst if you fancy nipping into central London you can do so in 20 minutes. I work in London Bridge so it takes around 30-40 minutes door to door, which is pretty spectacular."

WHICH MEMBER(S) HAVE YOU BONDED WITH IN THE AREA?

"I have probably bonded best with my two flatmates, James and Achal. I really enjoy spending time with both. This can be relaxing together at the end of the day playing some Fifa or watching Netflix or often Achal brings home a homemade Indian meal for us, which is awesome!  (the way to a man’s heart is with food)."

WHAT MAKES Wembley UNIQUE TO YOU?

"There’s no chance I could get bored at the weekend given the abundance of things to do! There’s so many delicious looking food places to try out, especially in Boxpark, so I’m expecting to stack some weight on as the months go by."

HOW WOULD YOU WELCOME A NEW MEMBER TO THE AREA?

"I’d love to pop down to Boxpark and tuck into some grub (and potentially a drink). On the way back, I would introduce them to whoever is working on the concierge desk, who will always have a chat and make you laugh."

TOP THREE TIPS FOR THINGS TO DO IN Wembley

  1. I love Boxpark - there's 20 street food vendors, three bars and absolutely loads of events there to entertain yourself. Recently a mate and I went to a Love Island event there, where you could meet some of the evictees and watch the latest live episode with them.
  2. London Designer Outlet is on your doorstep and great for outlet shopping, there's quite a few places to eat as well as a cinema.  A perfect day if you want to be hedonistic but not stray too far from home.
  3. This is a fairly and unexploited secret tip. The company that runs the building I am in is called Tipi and they are on a massive marketing drive, so are giving away loads of free tickets to events and host their own VIP events. For example, I received a load of free drinks vouchers the other week for the International Busking Day 2019 which hosted musicians such as KT Tunstall.
